Frequently asked questions
How much does a private Berlin tour cost?
Private tours start from €100 per hour for the whole group — not per person. The exact price depends on multiple factors, e.g. type of the tour, group size, how long it runs and how you would like to travel: on foot, by bike, by public transport, by van or by bus. Tell me what you have in mind and I'll send you a firm quote.
Are admission fees and transport tickets included?
Regular tours don't go inside sites that charge admission, so there are normally no entrance fees to budget for. Public transport tickets are not included in the price — if we travel by public transport, you buy your own ticket.
How large can the group be?
One guided group is normally up to 20 people, and separate arrangements apply to school classes. Larger parties are not a problem: the group is split, and the additional groups are led by premium guides I work with regularly.
Do you take school, university and corporate groups?
Yes — large groups are a regular part of my work, including school classes, university groups and corporate visits. Separate arrangements apply to larger groups, so tell me the group size and what you would like to cover, and I'll put a plan together.
Which languages are the tours available in?
Tours are available in English and German.
Are the tours private?
Yes. Every tour is private — just your group and your guide. I adapt the route and the pace to what interests you.
How long does a tour take?
Most tours run between two and six hours. Highlights of Berlin is flexible at 2–6 hours, Street Art and Kreuzberg take 3–4 hours, and the day trips to Sachsenhausen and Potsdam take around six hours.

How do I book a tour?
Send an enquiry through the contact form or email info@private-tour.berlin with your dates and what you would like to see. We agree all the details together before anything is confirmed.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation is flexible and there is no payment in advance — nothing is charged when you book. If your plans change, simply let me know.
Are the tours wheelchair and stroller accessible?
Every tour can be adapted to be wheelchair and stroller friendly. We normally discuss this during booking, so we can work out the best route and pace for your group together.
Who will be my guide?
Most tours I lead myself. I was born in Berlin, have been guiding since 2007, and hold a degree in History and German Literature from the University of Potsdam. If I'm not available, I'll arrange a suitable replacement from the premium guides I cooperate with regularly.
Do you offer tours outside Berlin?
Yes. The Potsdam tour covers the Prussian palaces and the 1945 Potsdam Conference, and the Sachsenhausen tour visits the concentration camp memorial in Oranienburg, just north of Berlin.
How do we get around during the tour?
On foot, by bike, by public transport, by van or by bus — whichever suits your group best. We'll agree this together when planning the tour.
